Red River Revel - 2003

October 4 - October 11, 2003

The Red River Revel Arts Festival is the largest outdoor arts festival in the region. Dedicated to presenting the finest in visual and performing arts, this fun-filled, eight-day festival attracts more than 180,000 people from a five-state area.

The Revel features four performance stages showcasing non-stop entertainment, a large area specifically created to provide arts education for children - AND - delectable food! From Indian Tacos to Fried Twinkies - you'll want to sample all the great Revel delicacies. Plus, you'll want to bring your Holiday shopping list to The Revel because each year between 100 and 130 visual artists come from across the nation to display and sell their creations. The Revel's juried art system ensures excellent quality, as well as great variety.

Begun in 1976, The Red River Revel has garnered considerable national attention. It has even been featured on ABC's Good Morning America! Last year, Sunshine Artist Magazine named The Red River Revel Arts Festival in its Top 100 Fine Arts Festivals for 2002. The Revel shares this distinct honor with only one other Louisiana festival – the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Also in 2002, The Revel was named an AAA Southern Traveler’s Treasure, and one of the Top 20 events by the Southeastern Tourism Society.

Be sure to try the "Hamster-on-a-Stick" and "Alligator Tail" at the ShreveNet© booth!

MUDBUGSHOCKEY.COM GETS A NEW LOOK!

Next week, the Mudbugs' official website, www.mudbugshockey.com, will be re-launched with a brand new design and will be the primary source for all Mudbugs news throughout the upcoming hockey season. Once again, the Mudbugs have teamed up with ShreveNet, the site's host, and have created a new fan-friendly structure which will feature updated statistics, game recaps, daily photos, a new Kid's Page, and many other new items.

"The staff at ShreveNet has done a tremendous job of giving our website a fresh look," said Mudbugs Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting Steve Mears. "I think our fans will really enjoy the new design that we've put together and the new mudbugshockey.com will be the place for all of the latest news from the Mudbugs and around the CHL."

The new website will also feature a link to chltv.com, the CHL's live video webcasts of games and a direct link to internet audio broadcasts of all 64 Mudbugs games, which will be announced at a later date. In addition to the new features, the Mudbugs' official website will continue to provide fans with opportunities to purchase the latest team merchandise online including jerseys, t-shirts, hats, photos, and many other items. The site is expected to be re-launched on Tuesday September 9th.

Vince gives me credit for having posted this once upon a time, but I say, "Nay! It was not I." This is the first time I've seen it. However, it's darn fun.
